MANAGEMENT TRAINING:

Management training is a continuous program in the areas of technical developments, TQM, Partnering, codes, and safety. These programs are provided through MCA on a national and local level. These courses are presented by the best professionals in their respective fields from all across the country.

FIELD TRAINING:

There is no better training in the world than what is provided to UA Members in the field that are employed by MCA firms.

Training begins with a five year apprenticeship program that covers every aspect of plumbing, pipe fitting, controls, and HVAC. In the Dayton Area, UA Local No. 162 along with the Mechanical Contractors Association of Greater Dayton has invested over a $1,000,000 in a physical training facility and equipment for apprentice and journeyman training.

Training also continues at the journeyman level with courses offered in every aspect of the trade in order to keep the UA journeymen member up to date on the latest changes in technology. Journeymen training also emphasizes productivity and an understanding of costs and overhead.

Foremen and Superintendent Training have also been important parts of the training programs provided UA Members.

UA Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, and Apprentices all receive extensive training in safety. Hours of training are spent on OSHA regulations and good safe work practices.

UA members are licensed under the local and state plumbing codes. Welders are certified through the State Division of Pressure Piping under procedures in compliance with ASME Codes.
